Job Title: Cardiac Cath Lab RN/Tech Profession: Clinical Services Specialty: Cardiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum 2 years for RN and Tech License: BLS Certifications: ACLS preferred for RN; ARRT or RCIS for RT Must-Have: - RN: Experience with Cath Lab patient types and critical care (ED or ICU) - RT/CVT: Cath lab experience with relevant patient types Description: This position is for the Cardiac Cath Lab. The facility is a Level III Trauma Center. It has a Level III NICU and 72 beds. There are 2 rooms including 1 EP/Cath room and 1 Cath Lab. Common patient types include diagnostics and interventional procedures. Familiarity with femoral and radial approaches is required. Experience with IFR, FFR, balloon pumps, temp pacemakers, AICS, and loop recorders is essential. Average cases per day are around 4. Successful candidates will work well with a team and possess strong communication skills. Travelers need to adapt well in an interdisciplinary environment. Support within the department includes receptionist, respiratory therapy, and hospitalists. Technology used includes EMR, hemodynamic systems, IV pumps, and dispensing systems. Travelers will not monitor cases. Floating will only occur within the department and pre-op area. Weekend rotation is required with on-call duties for stress tests, TEEs, and cardioversions. Holiday on-call responsibilities are mandatory. RTO approval goes through the manager. Scrubs will be provided. It is recommended for travelers to bring their own leads.
