Job Title: RN - Cardiac Cath Lab Profession: Nursing Specialty: RN Medical Center Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience for RNs and Techs License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Moderate sedation with Versed/Fentanyl - Critical drip management - Monitoring and circulating cases - Preferred experience with all case types listed in the job details Description: This position involves working within a Level 1 Trauma Center and Teaching hospital. The facility is Magnet designated and a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The Cath Lab consists of 3 procedure rooms. Average daily case load ranges from 5 to 15 cases. Typical procedures include diagnostic and interventional cases, such as left heart catheterization, right heart catheterization, and various cardiac interventions. Experience with Impella, IABPs, and peripheral diagnostic/interventions is preferred. Electrophysiology procedures such as Micra, pacemaker, AICDs, lead extractions/revisions, and generator changes are also expected. The role requires participation in weekend on-call coverage. RNs and Techs will need to manage call shifts including additional overnight shifts. The shift time is 07:00 to 17:30. The schedule is organized in 4-week increments. Weekends require a total of 2 shifts in the 4-week schedule. Availability for holiday on-call coverage is also necessary. Support within the department includes collaboration with a Charge RN, receptionists, hospitalists, and other available staff. Technology used includes EPIC for EMR, various pumps and emergency equipment. Scrubs will be provided.
