Job Title: RN - Cardiac Cath Lab Profession: Nursing Specialty: RN Medical Center Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Moderate sedation with Versed/Fentanyl experience Critical drip management experience Ability to monitor and circulate cases Experience with various Cath Lab and EP procedures Description: This facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center and Magnet designated teaching hospital. It offers comprehensive stroke services and has a total of 397 beds. The Cath Lab consists of 3 procedure rooms. The average daily case load ranges from 5 to 15 cases. Case types include diagnostic and interventional procedures such as LHC/RCH, STEMI, and NSTEMI. Other case types involved are Impella, IABPs, and CTOs/staged PCI. EP procedures include Micra, pacemaker insertions, AICD lead extractions, and generator changes. Support staff includes Charge RNs who participate in cases, receptionists, and hospitalists/physicians available after hours. Respiratory therapy support is also available. The facility utilizes technology such as EMR, IV pumps, and hemodynamic monitoring equipment. RNs and Techs are required to take on-call responsibilities, with a weekend rotation every 4 weeks. On-call shifts will require a 30-minute response time with no sleep room available. Scheduling is self-managed with final approval from management, and shift times are 0700 to 1730. Holidays may include on-call expectations. The uniform will be provided. Public transportation is available nearby.
