Travel Nurse RN - Cardiac Catheterization Lab - $3,465 per week in Peoria, IL

The average number of cases per day is between four to twenty. Common diagnoses include STEMI, NSTEMI, heart failure, congenital conditions, TAVR, MITRACLIP, and peripheral procedures. The Cath Lab operates separately from interventional radiology and electrophysiology. Nurses in this role will have access to EPIC as the electronic medical record system, along with GE and Philips monitors and McKesson equipment. Cardiologists are available on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A charge nurse will serve as a resource on each shift and coordinate workflow. When a nurse is on call, they will also act as the charge nurse. Cath Lab techs are registered technologists. The call team consists of four members, while regular cases typically involve three members, including one RN and two RTs. Shifts may require working additional hours to complete all cases, particularly if emergent cases arise. Weeknight call requirements include six to eight shifts per month, which consist of both primary and backup call responsibilities. Weekend call requirements involve working every six to seven weekends, beginning Friday evening and concluding Monday morning. Additional weekend shifts may be assigned for backup personnel to serve as circulators for emergent cases, occurring approximately once a month. Holiday call requirements include a shift during Easter. Floating is not common; however, experience in interventional radiology may be considered. Scrubs are provided for the role. Unit and department-specific orientation will involve two to three shifts.
