THE ROLEOur client, a growing acute care community hospital, is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Cardiac Catheterization Lab. The RN facilitates unit operations and patient flow under the supervision of the Manager of Cardiology, working closely with cardiologists during invasive procedures. This is a full-time, direct-hire position requiring close collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team to deliver coordinated, safe patient care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Anticipate, plan, direct, and evaluate the care of patients provided by Cardiac Catheterization staff and ancillary personnel
- Direct patient flow within the unit
- Monitor the planning, delivery, and outcomes of care for the area patient population
- Collaborate with other health team members to provide coordinated, safe, and compassionate care
- Function as an expert clinical practitioner and role model for staff
- Work closely with cardiologists in the performance of invasive procedures and patient outcomes
- Support cardiologists, the manager, nurse coordinator, and unit staff during invasive procedures
- Assist during procedures to ensure fast, efficient delivery of care
- Delegate and adjust care assignments based on patient acuity and available staff
- Assist in invasive procedures including scrubbing, equipment utilization, and hemodynamic computation
- Document patient status, tests performed, and follow-up plans
- Participate in the operation of therapeutic and interventional equipment
- Participate in activities leading to quality outcomes
- Participate in the on-call schedule with dependability and schedule flexibility
REQUIREMENTSMust-Have
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois
- Current CPR certification
- Active BLS certification
- Current registration by the ARRT
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience (range up to 15 years)
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder no visa sponsorship available
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- BSN preferred
- ACLS certification (required specifically for critical care/ER assignments)
