Key Responsibilities
Provide routine and complex nursing care for cardiac cath lab patients including cardiac catheterizations, peripheral procedures, TAVR, and device placements utilizing the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
Document patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
Assess patient and family learning needs; provide education and identify appropriate resources.
Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to effectively manage the clinical situation; participate in on-call rotation as scheduled in collaboration with staff.
Required Qualifications
Current RN license in state of employment or valid compact license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA required.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or related nursing specialty.
Ability to work every third or fourth weekend as required.
Availability for on-call shifts as collaboratively scheduled with unit staff.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience with cardiac catheterizations, peripheral vascular procedures, TAVR, and cardiac device management.
Prior travel nursing experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or Critical Care setting.
