Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Holding (Cardiac Cath Lab / EP)
Location
Chesapeake, VA
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | 4x10-hour shifts varying between 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 40 hours per week | Weekdays only, no weekends or on-call
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pre- and post-procedure nursing care for patients undergoing minimally invasive cardiac procedures
- Monitor and manage patients receiving cardiac medications and vasoactive drips
- Support care for patients with devices including intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP) and Impella devices
- Assist with patient care related to electrophysiology (EP) studies and EP device implants
- Collaborate with the cardiovascular team to ensure safe and efficient patient throughput in a holding environment
- Document patient assessments and interventions accurately using Epic EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission — no exceptions
- Minimum of two years of recent, relevant RN experience
- Proficiency in Epic EMR — no exceptions
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Current ACLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Critical care exposure with cardiac patients is required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in ICU, Emergency Department, Cardiac Cath Lab, Pre/Post Procedure Recovery, or Cardiac Rehabilitation
- Hands-on experience with coronary angioplasty, coronary stent placement, EP studies, and EP device implants
- Familiarity with cardiac medications and vasoactive drip management in a procedural or critical care setting
