Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for catheterization and angiography cardiovascular patients, including pre-procedure assessment, pre-medication, intra-procedure documentation, post-cath care, and patient education
• Assist with stress echocardiograms, treadmill exams, nuclear and pharmacologic stress testing, tilt table studies, cardioversions, and transesophageal echocardiograms
• Operate and manage specialized cardiac equipment including hemodynamic monitoring systems, intraaortic balloon pump, pacemakers/ICDs, defibrillators, and IV pumps
• Scrub in for procedures and assist the physician throughout cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology procedures
• Apply Holter monitors, event monitors, and ambulatory blood pressure monitors; perform pacemaker interrogations and insert PICC lines as a vascular access expert
• Accurately record all pertinent procedural information and contribute to the development and review of cardiovascular education materials

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license (must reflect Active status via LARA and/or Nursys)
• Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required
• Active American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification required
• Cath Lab RN experience required
• Experience with Maclab (hemodynamics) required
• Impella experience required
• Knowledge and operation of intraaortic balloon pump required
• Basic knowledge of IR and vascular required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Current skills checklist pertinent to Cath Lab specialty (within the last year)
• Two supervisory references completed within the last two years
