Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab / EP
Location
Monterey, CA
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM with rotating call coverage (weeknight, weekend, and holiday call required)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 2-suite cardiac cath lab and 1 EP lab environment, supporting an average of 4–5 EP cases and 6–7 cath cases per day
- Assist with a range of procedures including PCI, pacemaker implantation, STEMI intervention, diagnostic cath, TAVR, and Watchman procedures
- Perform pre-op and post-op/recovery patient care assignments as needed
- Participate in rotating on-call coverage, including weeknight call (3:30 PM–7:00 AM), weekend call (rotating every 3rd weekend, 24/7 coverage), and holiday call; 30-minute response time required
- Collaborate with an on-call team consisting of an RN, radiology tech, and cath tech for each call shift
- Adhere to facility smoke-free and nicotine-free policies; negative nicotine/cotinine results required upon drug screening
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiac cath lab or EP specialty
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- NIHSS certification required
- Ability and willingness to take total patient care assignments, including pre-op and recovery roles
- Willingness to work holidays and participate in rotating call schedule
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with structural heart procedures (TAVR, Watchman)
- Familiarity with Epic EMR; experience with McKesson, Philips, or Siemens systems also valued
- RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification
