Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Cath Lab / EP

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift | Monday–Friday, 9-hour shifts with one rotating day off per week; rotating weekday, weekend, and holiday call coverage required

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, neuro IR, and interventional radiology procedures including STEMI, PCI, diagnostic coronary angiography, structural heart procedures, ablations, device implants, synchronized cardioversions, TEEs, acute stroke/thrombectomy, peripheral vascular interventions, biopsies, and drain placements
  • Perform pre-procedural and post-procedural patient assessment and recovery care
  • Collaborate with Cath Lab Technologists who scrub and monitor cases across a 5-suite/lab department
  • Participate in rotating call coverage outside of core hours (Monday–Friday 0700–1630), including 24-hour call shifts on Saturdays and Sundays
  • Float within the Cath Lab department as needed, covering Coronary, Neuro IR, Electrophysiology, Interventional Radiology, and Prep & Recovery areas
  • Document patient care accurately using Epic and Change Healthcare (formerly McKesson) EMR systems
Required Qualifications
  • Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Cath Lab RN experience required
  • STEMI experience required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Ability to work in a drug-free environment and produce a negative drug screen
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience in Interventional Radiology (IR) nursing
  • Experience in Neuro IR procedures
  • Familiarity with Lifepak 20 monitoring equipment
