• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4 to 1:6 depending on assignment
• Charting System: Epic preferred
• Orientation: 24 hours

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in hand at time of submittal
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Recent experience in stepdown, telemetry, PCU, IMC, or a similar acute care setting preferred
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Ability to care for patients with mixed medical-surgical and intermediate care needs
• Strong telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation skills
• Experience managing cardiac patients and supporting rapid response needs
• Willingness to float to Med/Surg as needed
• Epic experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to cardiac stepdown and intermediate care patients
• Monitor telemetry and assess for changes in cardiac rhythm, vitals, or patient condition
• Support patients with cardiac, respiratory, and medical-surgical needs
• Administer medications and therapies according to unit protocols and standards of care
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and the care team to respond quickly to changes in patient status
• Assist with blood product administration, line care, oxygen therapy, and isolation precautions
• Care for patients undergoing cardiac-related monitoring, treatment, and recovery
• Float to Med/Surg when needed based on unit demand and patient acuity
• Document care accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record
• Contribute to a supportive team environment focused on quality patient outcomes
