Job Requirements

• Active RN license in Texas or a valid compact RN license
• Minimum of 1 year of recent nursing experience in a related specialty, such as telemetry, cardiac stepdown, progressive care, or acute care nursing
• BLS certification from AHA required
• ACLS certification from AHA required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced care environment
• Ability to successfully complete onboarding, orientation, and competency validation

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Monitor cardiac stepdown and telemetry patients and respond appropriately to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol while evaluating effectiveness and side effects
• Document patient histories, symptoms, interventions, and care delivered accurately and timely
• Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Educate patients, family members, and caregivers on conditions, treatments, and next steps in care
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support excellent outcomes and a smooth patient experience
• Maintain competency with unit standards, organizational protocols, and annual education requirements
