• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Schedule: 36 hours per week; 48-hour scheduling may also be available
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
• Charting System: Epic required
• Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Time Off: Up to 40 hours of requested time off may be approved

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
• Previous cardiac stepdown, telemetry, or intermediate care experience strongly preferred
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred
• Epic experience required
• Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias
• Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity surgical cardiac environment
• BSN preferred
• Must be willing to float within scope of practice as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality patient care for adult and geriatric cardiac stepdown patients
• Monitor and care for post-op open heart, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients
• Manage patients recovering from CABG, valve repair/replacement, lung resection, transplant, and revascularization therapies
• Care for patients receiving cardiac drips, heparin therapy, and advanced monitoring
• Perform independent ECG assessments and support telemetry monitoring
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support safe, coordinated care
• Respond quickly to changing patient conditions in a fast-paced acute care setting
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow established unit protocols
• Support recovery, stabilization, and discharge readiness for complex surgical patients
