Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890

- Shift Hours: 6:45 a.m. – 7:15 p.m.

- Call: No on-call requirements
- Patient Population: Adult and geriatric neuro/telemetry patients
- Typical Patient Ratio: 4–5 patients
- Weekend Requirement: Three weekend shifts per four-week schedule
- Additional Scheduling: Holiday availability is required; flexibility to float to other medical-surgical/telemetry units or a low-acuity ICU is expected
Registered Nurse Travel Contract Requirements
- Active Tennessee or compact Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 1 year of medical-surgical or telemetry nursing experience; stepdown or progressive-care experience is strongly preferred
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Recent Epic experience within the past 18 months, clearly documented in the professional profile
- Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment skills in a telemetry or progressive-care environment
- Previous travel nursing experience is preferred, though first-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
- Ability to meet unit orientation, scheduling, and floating expectations
Travel Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric neuro, surgical, cardiac, and telemetry patients
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize dysrhythmias, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Care for patients with stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, post-neurosurgery, post-MI, renal failure, and other complex conditions
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, surgical drains, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, peripheral lines, and wound care needs
- Administer medications, blood products, IV therapies, heparin protocols, insulin protocols, oxygen therapy, and non-invasive respiratory support as indicated
- Perform accurate patient assessments, care planning, documentation, and education using Epic
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, rehabilitation, IV services, social services, rapid response teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Recognize and escalate clinical deterioration, participating in rapid response and emergency interventions when needed
- Float safely and effectively to comparable medical-surgical/telemetry units or a low-acuity ICU based on staffing needs
