• Schedule: Block scheduling with every other weekend coverage

• Orientation: 36 hours
• Floating: May float to like or lower acuity units as needed

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license required prior to start date
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry, cardiac stepdown, or cardiac/stroke nursing experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must be proficient in reading, identifying, and responding to cardiac rhythms
• Experience managing cardiac drips strongly preferred
• Must be comfortable caring for adult and geriatric patients in a high-acuity monitored setting
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Pending license may be accepted if active before the start date
• Cerner experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to patients with telemetry, stroke, CHF, chest pain, MI, syncope, hypertension, and other monitored conditions
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
• Manage patients receiving cardiac drips such as heparin, Cardizem, amiodarone, and Lasix as clinically appropriate
• Support patients with renal needs, oxygen therapy, and other complex medical conditions
• Collaborate closely with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response, radiology, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Maintain accurate documentation and deliver high-quality care in a busy, fast-moving unit
• Float as needed based on census and staffing requirements
• Promote a safe, professional, and patient-centered care environment
