Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Ohio
• At least 1 year of recent Registered Nursing experience; cardiac stepdown, progressive-care, telemetry, or acute-care experience is strongly preferred
• Current experience caring for patients requiring cardiac monitoring and higher-acuity nursing care
• Completion of required skills and competency assessments
• Ability to provide current professional and employment verification
• Strong patient assessment, communication, critical-thinking, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills

Cardiac Stepdown Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to patients in a cardiac stepdown and progressive-care setting
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and monitor patients for changes in cardiac and overall clinical status
• Administer medications and treatments according to established orders and standards of care
• Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly communicate concerns to the provider and interdisciplinary care team
• Coordinate care with physicians, rehabilitation specialists, support staff, patients, and families
• Provide patient and family education related to treatment plans, recovery, medications, and discharge needs
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and support continuity of care
