Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Ohio
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience
• Recent experience in cardiac stepdown, progressive care, telemetry, or a comparable acute-care setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring, patient assessment, and escalation of changes in condition
• Ability to provide safe, organized care in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Successful completion of required competency validation, background screening, and onboarding documentation

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients transitioning from critical care or requiring cardiac observation and progressive support
• Perform focused and comprehensive assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, symptoms, and clinical status; promptly communicate significant changes to the appropriate care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely while following clinical protocols and physician orders
• Recognize potential complications and initiate timely interventions within the RN scope of practice
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, recovery expectations, medications, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate effective patient care
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and support a culture of safety, compassion, and clinical excellence
