Job Details

• Position: Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown / PCU
• Location: Columbus, OH 43210
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Duration: 16 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
• Orientation: 72 hours
• Float Requirement: May float to equivalent or lower-acuity PCU or Med-Surg Oncology units
• Patient Population: Adult progressive care and oncology telemetry patients

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of total acute care nursing experience
• At least 1 year of recent PCU or progressive care experience required
• Current acute care experience must be active and consistent within the last 12 months
• Valid RN license in hand at time of submission
• Epic charting experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Strong telemetry and cardiac stepdown background preferred
• Experience with rapid response teams, dysrhythmia interpretation, and complex patient care strongly desired

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to high-acuity progressive care and oncology telemetry patients
• Monitor telemetry rhythms and recognize changes in patient condition quickly and accurately
• Support patients with cardiac drips, respiratory support devices, and advanced monitoring equipment
• Perform central line, peripheral line, and PICC line care as needed
• Manage feeding tubes, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and related clinical interventions within scope
• Administer blood products, maintain IV access, and follow heparin and other medication protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote excellent patient outcomes
• Prioritize infection prevention, fall prevention, and adherence to unit-specific safety practices
• Respond appropriately to urgent situations and assist with rapid response/code team support when needed
