Job Details

• Position: Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,950 - $2,060
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts; 3x12 or 4x12 options
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Charting System: Epic required
• Orientation: Up to 24 hours of billable orientation modules
• Location: Middletown, Ohio 45005

Job Requirements

• Active RN license or compact license accepted
• At least 1 year of recent experience in cardiac stepdown, progressive care, telemetry, or a similar acute care setting
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
• Ability to pass an online EKG/dysrhythmia competency assessment before start
• Strong telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation skills
• Comfortable caring for adult and geriatric patients with a patient ratio of 1:5
• Must be comfortable floating to medically appropriate units as needed
• Flu vaccine required, with medical or religious exemptions only
• Must have no past license disciplinary action
• 1 pre-approved time-off request permitted; up to 14 days RTO allowed per contract

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with cardiac, respiratory, neuro, renal, and post-surgical conditions
• Monitor telemetry and manage dysrhythmias in a progressive care setting
• Care for patients requiring chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP, Vapotherm, peritoneal dialysis, and other specialized therapies
• Administer and monitor medications and therapies, including cardiac drips, insulin protocols, and heparin protocols
• Support post-procedure and post-operative patients, including cardiac stents, pacemakers, ablations, PCI, and catheterization cases
• Assess, document, and communicate patient status clearly using Epic
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams to promote safe, efficient patient care
• Respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and assist with rapid response or code situations when needed
• Float within the hospital or nearby partner locations as assigned based on patient care needs
