Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license
• Minimum 1 year of acute care nursing experience required
• Telemetry, PCU, DOU, IMC, or stepdown experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience caring for stroke, neurosurgery, trauma, and medical-surgical patients preferred
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and occasional nights

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy cardiac stepdown unit
• Monitor telemetry and assess patients with stroke, neurosurgical, trauma, and complex medical conditions
• Perform and document NIHSS assessments and support stroke education
• Manage lumbar drains and assist with other specialized neuro stepdown procedures as needed
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Administer medications, maintain IV therapy, and support safe, effective patient care
• Deliver compassionate care while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety and clinical excellence
