First Connect Health is seeking a travel nurse RN Cardiac Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Madison, Wisconsin.

Job Description & Requirements

Stepdown Cardiac / Cardiology Registered Nurse – Night Shift

  • Schedule: Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 19:00 – 07:30 | Monday – Friday with Every Other Weekend
  • Weekend Protocol: Every other weekend required (approx. 21–24 weekend shifts per contract duration).
  • Floating & On-Call Protocol: Floating is required to meet facility needs; no on-call requirement.
  • Block Scheduling: Block schedules are not offered.
  • Assignment Duration: 13-Week Contract (Start Date: 08/31/2026)
  • Orientation: First 20 hours orientation paid.
  • RTO Limit: Maximum 2 pre-approved time-off requests permitted.

     

Submission Hardstops [STRICT & NON-NEGOTIABLE]

  • Experience Baseline [HARDSTOP]: Minimum 3 years of clinical RN experience. (Preference given to candidates with at least 3 years in a core staff position prior to travel nursing).
  • Specialty Experience [HARDSTOP]: Demonstrated competency in Cardiac Telemetry and PCU / Stepdown / IMC nursing.
  • Travel Experience [HARDSTOP]: Prior travel nursing experience is required.
  • Competency Exam Mandate [HARDSTOP]: Traveler must pass a Telemetry Competency Test prior to being cleared to start.
  • EMR Mandate [HARDSTOP]: Direct clinical charting experience in Epic EMR.
  • Licensure & Certifications [IN-HAND AT SUBMISSION]:
    • Active Wisconsin State RN License or active eNLC Multistate Compact RN License.
    • Active AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
    • Active AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccination compliance (Medical/Religious Exemptions only).
