Overview

This Registered Nurse role supports a combined trauma, general surgery, stepdown, and med-surg unit in Morgantown, WV. Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,180 - $2,290
• Setting: Acute care trauma and general surgery stepdown / med-surg unit
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Schedule: Weekend nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Duration: 13 weeks

• Unit Type: Stepdown and floor care with telemetry support

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility to work in the state of West Virginia
• Experience in acute care, stepdown, trauma, med-surg, or a similar inpatient hospital setting
• Epic experience required
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Experience working with 1:6 floor ratios and 1:3 stepdown ratios
• BLS certification required
• Ability to read telemetry strips and validate monitoring findings
• Strong skills in complex wound care, drains, devices, chest tubes, respiratory support, and neurologic injury care
• Comfort with floating to like units as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality acute care nursing to floor and stepdown patients with trauma and general surgery needs
• Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient condition in a fast-paced hospital nursing environment
• Care for patients with multi-trauma, traumatic brain injuries, fractures, chest-wall injuries, and complex spinal cord injuries
• Support post-operative and bariatric surgery patients with attentive, compassionate bedside care
• Administer medications and manage commonly used therapies per unit protocols
• Collaborate with care management, surgical teams, rehabilitation services, and perioperative services
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team
• Contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered environment that values teamwork, safety, and clinical excellence
