Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,180–$2,290
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: September 28, 2026
• End Date: December 28, 2026
• Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Shift: Nights, 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Weekend Schedule: Friday–Sunday or Saturday–Monday
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Unit: Flexible 29-bed cardiac stepdown and medical-surgical unit
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 3:1 for stepdown patients and 6:1 for medical-surgical patients
• Call/Standby: None required
• Charting System: EPIC
• Dress Code: Any combination of royal blue and white

Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure eligible for practice in West Virginia
• At least 1 year of recent acute-care RN experience, with demonstrated readiness for cardiac stepdown, progressive care, or medical-surgical nursing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Previous EPIC experience is required
• Ability to care for patients requiring cardiac monitoring and higher-acuity medical-surgical care
• Comfort titrating medications according to provider orders, including heparin, insulin, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, and pain-management infusions
• Ability to care for patients receiving CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and other acute-care therapies
• Flexibility to float first to other medical-surgical or stepdown units as needed

Travel Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac stepdown and medical-surgical patients with primarily medical diagnoses
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and patient conditions using Phillips telemetry equipment and centralized monitoring resources
• Assess patients, identify changes in condition, and promptly communicate clinical concerns
• Administer medications and safely titrate ordered drips in accordance with unit protocols
• Care for patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, ventilatory support, TPN, and patient-controlled analgesia
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, clinical associates, charge nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EPIC
• Support safe patient transitions, patient education, and discharge planning
• Work scheduled weekend nights and approximately half of recognized holidays during the assignment
