Position Overview

As a Stepdown RN, you will provide specialized care for cardiovascular and progressive care patients requiring close monitoring following surgery or acute medical treatment. You'll care for patients recovering from advanced cardiac procedures while collaborating with an experienced interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and continuous cardiac monitoring.
  • Care for patients recovering from cardiac procedures, including PCI, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, pacemaker placement, and open-heart surgery.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and cardiac treatments.
  • Interpret telemetry rhythms and promptly recognize changes in patient condition.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and rehabilitation teams.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery.
  • Accurately document patient care and maintain compliance with clinical standards.
  • Float to similar units as needed.
