- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250-$2,370
- Schedule: 36 hours per week; 3 shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
- Shift Options: Days, 7:00 a.m.-7:30 p.m.; nights, 7:00 p.m.-7:30 a.m.
- Schedule Flexibility: Rotating shifts may be required to meet operational needs; holiday coverage is required at least every other holiday
- Patient Population: Cardiac, vascular, and medical-surgical telemetry patients
- Float Expectation: May float to comparable units or the emergency department to care for the same patient population
Cardiac Stepdown Travel RN Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent permanent experience in cardiac stepdown, progressive care, med/surg telemetry, vascular nursing, or a closely related specialty
- Active Registered Nurse license in Ohio or an active compact-state license in hand at the time of submission
- Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Strong cardiac rhythm recognition, ECG interpretation, and telemetry assessment skills
- One recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director within the specialty, preferably from the past 12 months
- Ability to complete required background screening, health screening, orientation, and pre-start education
- Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition and medication-safety assessments during orientation
- Adaptability, sound clinical judgment, and a commitment to safe, patient-centered care
Travel Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients on a cardiac and vascular stepdown unit
- Continuously monitor telemetry, recognize changes in cardiac rhythms, and promptly communicate clinical concerns
- Assess patients, administer medications, perform treatments, and evaluate responses to care
- Provide post-procedural and postoperative nursing care for vascular and other medically complex patients
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, recovery, and discharge plans
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow established patient safety and infection-prevention practices
- Float to comparable care areas or the emergency department when needed while maintaining care quality and continuity
