Cardiac Stepdown Travel RN needed in Cleveland, Ohio for a 13-week contract providing telemetry and medical-surgical nursing care. Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370
• Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown, Progressive Care, and Med-Surg Telemetry
• Location: Cleveland, Ohio
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Anticipated Start Date: October 23, 2026
• Schedule: 36 hours per week; three 12-hour shifts
• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
• Shift Times: Days, approximately 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.; nights, approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Schedule Flexibility: Rotating day and night assignments may be required to support operational needs
• Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Must work at least every other holiday
• Floating: May float to comparable cardiac, telemetry, medical-surgical, or emergency care units based on patient population and operational needs

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or an active compact-state license in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of permanent experience in cardiac stepdown, progressive care, telemetry, or a closely related nursing specialty
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current ACLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Required certifications must be active and in hand before the travel nursing assignment begins
• One recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty, preferably from the past 12 months
• Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments during orientation
• Ability to complete required screening, background checks, facility orientation, and pre-start learning modules
• Willingness to meet applicable vaccination, health screening, and compliance requirements

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive registered nursing care to cardiac stepdown and medical-surgical telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, identify changes in patient condition, and promptly communicate clinical concerns
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with provider orders, hospital policies, and nursing standards
• Perform focused and comprehensive nursing assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
• Manage patients with complex cardiac and medical conditions in a fast-paced inpatient healthcare setting
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Provide patient and family education related to diagnoses, medications, treatments, recovery, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate, timely electronic health record documentation and support safe transitions of care
• Float to comparable units when needed while maintaining quality, patient safety, and continuity of care
