Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370
• Location: Cleveland, Ohio
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiac and thoracic surgery stepdown unit
• Start Date: November 13, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 36 hours per week; 3 shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
• Shift Options: Day shifts, approximately 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.; night shifts, approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Scheduling Note: Shifts may rotate based on operational needs, with efforts made to honor the selected shift preference.
• Additional Assignment Expectations: Work at least every other holiday and float to comparable patient-care units when needed.

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• At least 1 year of recent permanent experience in cardiac stepdown, progressive care, telemetry, or a closely related specialty
• Permanent Ohio nursing license or compact-state RN license in hand at the time of submission
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from an accepted provider
• Ability to provide a recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty
• Strong cardiac rhythm recognition and medication-safety knowledge
• Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition and medication-safety assessments during orientation
• Willingness to complete required onboarding, background screening, and pre-start education

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, neurological status, and other indicators of clinical change.
• Recognize and promptly respond to changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications and treatments safely while following established clinical protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, rehabilitation professionals, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, recovery, medications, and discharge needs.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, outcomes, and care coordination activities.
• Float to comparable units, including other cardiac or thoracic patient-care areas and the emergency department, as needed to support safe patient care.
