Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370

- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
- Shift Times: Days, approximately 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.; nights, approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
- Scheduling: Rotating day/night assignment may be required based on operational needs; holiday coverage every other holiday is expected
- Float: May float to comparable patient-care units, including other stepdown areas and the emergency department, as needed
Cardiac Stepdown Travel Nurse Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with a permanent Ohio license or compact-state license in hand
- At least 1 year of recent permanent experience in cardiac stepdown, stepdown, or a closely related telemetry nursing specialty
- Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Active ACLS certification
- Active NIHSS certification
- Strong cardiac rhythm recognition and telemetry assessment skills
- Ability to work rotating day and night shifts, weekends, and required holiday coverage
- Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition and medication-safety assessments during orientation
- One recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty may be required
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for cardiac, vascular, surgical, and medically complex stepdown patients
- Perform focused and comprehensive nursing assessments, identify changes in condition, and escalate concerns promptly
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, laboratory results, and other clinical indicators
- Administer medications and treatments safely while following current clinical standards and physician orders
- Care for patients before and after vascular and cardiothoracic procedures
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, rehabilitation, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, recovery, and discharge needs
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, responses to care, and patient outcomes
- Adapt to floating assignments while maintaining safe, compassionate care for the same general patient population
