Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) – Cleveland, Ohio Travel Nursing Contract

Travel Registered Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370
• Location: Cleveland, Ohio
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiac stepdown / vascular surgery telemetry unit
• Start Date: October 23, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 36 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
• Shift Options: Day shift, approximately 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.; night shift, approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Scheduling: Rotating shifts may be required based on operational needs; holiday coverage is required at least every other holiday
• Floating: May float to comparable units and the Emergency Department to care for patients with a similar population

Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Ohio or an active compact-state license in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of permanent experience in cardiac stepdown, telemetry nursing, or a closely related specialty
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current certifications must be active and available at the time of submission; pending certifications are not accepted
• Recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty, completed within the past 12 months
• Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition and medication-safety assessments during orientation, with up to two attempts permitted
• Ability to meet applicable background screening, health screening, vaccination, and compliance requirements
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac stepdown, vascular surgery, and medical-surgical telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and escalate concerns promptly
• Perform nursing assessments, administer medications, manage treatments, and evaluate patient responses
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Support patients recovering from complex vascular and cardiothoracic conditions while promoting safety and mobility
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record
• Float to designated units when needed while maintaining safe, patient-centered care
• Participate in orientation, required education, competency assessments, and ongoing professional development
