- Contract Duration: 20 weeks, with a 13-week option available
- Schedule: Rotating days and nights, 12-hour shifts
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,250-$2,370
- Orientation: 16 hours
- Healthcare Setting: Cardiology stepdown / progressive care
Job Requirements
- Minimum 18 months of combined permanent experience in the cardiac stepdown or related specialty
- At least 18 months of recent stepdown, progressive care, or telemetry nursing experience; travel nurse experience accepted
- Active permanent Ohio RN license or compact RN license in hand at time of submission
- Current AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Ability to work rotating day and night 12-hour shifts in a hospital setting
- Willingness to work at least every other holiday
- ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate completion during orientation with an acceptable score
- Strong communication, adaptability, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality cardiac nursing care to stepdown patients with complex cardiovascular needs
- Monitor patient status, interpret cardiac rhythms, and respond quickly to changes in condition
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to support safe, effective care plans
- Administer medications, complete assessments, and document patient progress accurately in the EMR
- Support patients and families with education, reassurance, and clear communication throughout the care process
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient workflow in a fast-paced progressive care environment
- Float to similar patient care units when needed to support operational needs
