Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Cleveland, Ohio

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370
• Location: Cleveland, Ohio
• Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown / Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nursing
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts; days approximately 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. and nights approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Start Date: October 23, 2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks, ending January 22, 2027
• Work Environment: On-site; potential to float to comparable units caring for similar patient populations based on operational needs
• Holiday Requirement: Work at least every other holiday during the contract

Cardiac Stepdown Travel RN Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Ohio or an active compact-state license in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of recent permanent experience in cardiac stepdown, progressive care, stepdown, or telemetry nursing
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Strong cardiac rhythm recognition, telemetry monitoring, and patient assessment skills
• One recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty
• Successful completion of required background, health screening, and occupational compliance processes
• Completion of ECG rhythm recognition and medication-safety assessments during orientation with an acceptable score
• Ability to complete required pre-start education and clinical modules

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring cardiac stepdown and medical-surgical telemetry monitoring
• Assess patients, identify changes in condition, and promptly escalate clinical concerns
• Interpret and document cardiac rhythms while recognizing dysrhythmias and other signs of patient deterioration
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with established standards of care
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams
• Provide patient and family education related to diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support safe transitions of care
• Adapt to rotating day and night assignments and float to comparable patient-care areas when needed
