Absolute Minimum Qualifications & Departmental Hardstops:
- Licensure Mandate: Active, unencumbered New York State (NYS) RN License held in hand at submission.
- Experience Baseline: Minimum 5+ years of total RN experience, with mandatory Cardiac Telemetry / Stepdown / PCU experience.
- EHR Proficiency: Mandatory Epic EMR experience.
- Mandatory Certifications:
- Active AHA BLS
- Active AHA ACLS

Job Summary & Clinical Scope
A hospital in Johnson City, NY is seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Telemetry Stepdown / PCU Registered Nurse (Staff Nurse) for a 13-week contract in Med Surg ST 3 (Department 020103008). Operating within a comprehensive regional cardiac center, the RN will direct intermediate care and continuous cardiac monitoring for complex post-procedural and medical cardiac populations.
- Advanced Structural Heart & Interventional Care: Provide direct bedside management for post-procedural patients following Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), Watchman device implants, MitralClip procedures, cardiac catheterizations, and post-op CABG (greater than 3 days post-op following CVICU transfer).
- Vascular Access & Hemostasis Management: Demonstrate expert competency in groin management, sheath removal, TR Band management, radial/femoral insertion site assessments, and immediate intervention for vascular complications or hematomas.
- Cardiac Vasoactive & Continuous Infusions: Administer and monitor flat-rate cardiac drips and IV/PO cardiovascular agents, including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Lidocaine, Milrinone, Heparin, continuous Insulin, and anticoagulants.
- Acuity & Rhythm Management: Continuous telemetry monitoring and management for Acute Coronary Syndrome (NSTEMI, STEMI), complex dysrhythmias, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), chest pain, Pulmonary Embolism (PE), sepsis, pneumonia, stroke, and observation status patients.
