Contract (18 Weeks) | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a cardiac telemetry stepdown unit serving adult patients with primary or secondary cardiac diagnoses, stroke/TIA, and stable post-cardiac catheterization presentations
• Monitor patients via remote telemetry using the Hicuity System
• Administer and manage specialty drips including Cardizem (non-titratable), Amiodarone, Heparin, Protonix, and Lasix
• Operate specialized equipment including Alaris IV pumps, Covidien Feeding Pumps, and Zebra portable phones
• Participate in holiday and every-other-weekend scheduling as assigned
• Float within specialty, to other units, and to sister facilities within scope as needed — travelers are first to float

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — active Maryland state license or Compact License required at time of submission
• ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Must be comfortable floating within scope with no restrictions or special requests
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (permanent address must be 50+ miles from the facility address); locals are not accepted unless explicitly stated otherwise

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a cardiac telemetry or stepdown setting
• Familiarity with remote telemetry monitoring systems
• Experience managing cardiac and stroke patient populations
• CPI certification (Calm Every Storm online version is the accepted online vendor)
