Progressive Care Registered Nurse – Varied Shift

Contract | Rotating Shift | 36 hours per week | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide primary nursing care to patients in a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit, including Step-down ICU and telemetry beds
- Perform telemetry monitoring and telemetry strip reading
- Conduct fingerstick blood sugar monitoring
- Operate unit equipment including BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring systems
- Document patient care using Meditech charting and administer medications via Pyxis
- Float to other acute care units within the facility, including Medical, Surgical/Pediatrics, ICU, and Emergency departments as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active State of Hawaii Registered Nurse license (must be obtained by assignment start date)
- Minimum of 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
- Ability to maintain a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio in Progressive Care and 1:3 in Step-down ICU
- Willingness and ability to float to all acute inpatient units as assigned
- Professional scrubs dress code compliance required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Progressive Care and telemetry nursing experience strongly preferred
- ACLS certification preferred
- Current PALS certification preferred
- NIHSS certification preferred
