Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Stepdown

Location

Morgantown, WV

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed Heart and Vascular unit, including stepdown and floor-level patients, at ratios of 1:3 (stepdown) and 1:6 (floor)
• Care for complex cardiac and vascular surgery post-operative patients including CABG, valve replacements, LVAD, heart transplants, TAVRs, AAA repair, CEA, and femoral bypass
• Manage cardiology patients presenting with STEMI, NSTEMI, heart failure, and those undergoing procedures such as cardiac cath, stent placement, ICD insertion, ablations, and pacemaker placement
• Titrate drips including heparin, amiodarone, Cardizem, TPA, Lasix, and dobutamine per protocol
• Collaborate with unit charge nurses, house supervisors, cardiac monitor technicians (CMTs), and clinical associates to deliver high-quality patient care
• Float to sister units within the Heart and Vascular Institute as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Current BLS certification (unexpired)
• Current ACLS certification (unexpired)
• Demonstrated cardiac and/or vascular nursing experience
• Ability to titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips independently
• Availability to work every other weekend and rotating holidays

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a cardiac stepdown, cardiac ICU, or heart and vascular unit setting
• Familiarity with CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy
• Experience caring for LVAD or heart transplant patients
