Registered Nurse – Cardiac Progressive Care / Telemetry

Contract | 13 Weeks | 36 Hours per Week | 12-Hour Night Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
Monitor and manage patients with conditions including post-op CABG/valve surgery, thoracotomy, vascular procedures, arrhythmia, CHF, acute chest pain/MI, DKA, COPD exacerbation, and respiratory failure
Administer and titrate cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitroglycerin
Float to all inpatient units as needed based on census demands
Accurately document patient care and assessments using electronic health record systems
Adhere to all facility infection control and health compliance policies, including masking requirements during flu season if vaccination is declined
Required Qualifications
Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted)
Minimum 1 year of strong cardiac experience in a Cardiac SDU, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac ICU setting
Minimum 2 years of IMC, PCU, or Telemetry experience
Demonstrated experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitroglycerin drips (required to advance in interview process)
Minimum 1 year of recent EPIC charting experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
At least one prior travel nursing assignment completed
Ability to pass an EKG competency test during the first week of assignment
Experience in a fast-paced, high-turnover cardiac environment with post-procedure and med/surg overflow patients
