Schedule: 12-hour shifts; 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratio (up to 1:6 on weekends); typically every other weekend; floating within scope of practice as needed; call is rare with 2-hour response time
Highlights:
32-bed Progressive Care/Overflow IMCU unit serving adult to geriatric populations
Diverse case mix including cardiac arrhythmias, CHF, chest pain, post-cardiac cath, DKA, pulmonary conditions (COPD, PE, pulmonary edema), surgical overflow, and occasional vascular patients
Epic EMR system (preferred), Pyxis, SBAR protocols in place
Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
Required experience managing continuous IV medications including cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin), diuretics, anticoagulants, and insulin drips
Up to 7 days of requested time off per contract; orientation provided with bi-weekly scheduling
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; prior travel experience mandatory (first-time travelers not accepted)
Active Georgia or Compact RN license required at time of submission
Strong arrhythmia management and interpretation skills, including cardioversion experience
Proficiency with TR Bands, post-cardiac cath care, hemodynamic monitoring, and telemetry monitoring
Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, central line care, blood product administration, and IV access/management
Epic charting experience preferred; patient ratio experience of 1:6 preferred
Full compliance documentation required by Tuesday prior to start date to ensure timely orientation
