Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Schedule: 3x12 night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), 36 hours per week. Weekend coverage required (4 weekend shifts per 4-week period). Float required as needed. Holiday coverage required. Contract length: 13-26 weeks available.
Highlights:
Cardiac telemetry and step-down unit with 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
Complex cardiac patient population including post-surgical cardiac, vascular, and thoracic procedures
Experience with advanced cardiac procedures: CABG, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO (Watchman), electrophysiology, and catheterization procedures
Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including rapid response teams, pharmacy, respiratory services, and specialty consultants
24-hour structured orientation program with dedicated unit support
Opportunity to work with specialized cardiac equipment including arterial lines, femoral sheaths, TR bands, and chest tubes
Requirements:
Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
BLS and ACLS certifications required
NIHSS certification preferred
Minimum 2 years of cardiac nursing experience required
Willingness to participate in Storm Team/Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events as required
Clinical Focus:
Patient diagnoses include atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, valve disorders (aortic and mitral stenosis/regurgitation), endocarditis, cardiomyopathy, peripheral vascular disease, carotid stenosis, and sheath management
Post-operative care for cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical patients including CABG, valve replacements, carotid endarterectomy, fem-pop bypass, and amputations
Post-procedural monitoring for cardiac catheterization, cardioversion, electrophysiology procedures, and pacemaker placements
Management and interpretation of cardiac dysrhythmias with cardiac drip management and titration
