# Job Opportunity – Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse – North CarolinaStart Date: October 19, 2026Location: Wilmington, North CarolinaCompensation: Details provided to qualified applicantsSchedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, 13-26 week assignment available. Patient ratio 1:6 (varies per acuity). Weekend requirement: 4 shifts per 4 weeks (flexible). Floating required at unit discretion.Highlights:- Comprehensive cardiac care unit with 44 beds managing post-surgical cardiac and thoracic patients, including CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, and vascular surgeries- Advanced procedures including sheath management and removal, cardiac drip management with titration, chest tube care, and post-electrophysiology procedures- Epic charting system with full interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and specialized therapies- 24-hour unit orientation with experienced preceptors to ensure successful integration into the team- Opportunity to care for complex cardiac diagnoses including atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, cardiomyopathy, and post-cardiac catheterization patients- Assignment includes potential storm team/hurricane team participation as part of facility disaster preparedness protocolsRequirements:- Active North Carolina RN license or Compact State license- Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac floor experience required- Travel nursing experience required unless candidate has more than 24 months of cardiac experience- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required- Must successfully pass EKG testing prior to start date- Proficiency in cardiac telemetry, PCU/stepdown care, sheath removal, dysrhythmia interpretation and management- Experience with cardiac drip management (including titration), chest tubes, non-invasive airway management (CPAP/BIPAP), and post-MI/cardiac cath care- Ability to work independently with critical thinking skills appropriate for complex cardiac patient populations- Must complete pre-start modules (8-10 hours, non-billable) using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)Preferred Qualifications:- Arterial line management experience- Wound care and wound vac experience- Previous charge nurse experience- Epic charting system experienceWhy It's a Great Opportunity:This position offers the chance to work in a high-acuity cardiac environment with a diverse case mix ranging from post-surgical cardiac and thoracic patients to complex medical cardiac conditions.
