Description:
This position is for a registered nurse in a critical care environment.
The unit has 16 beds with patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1, occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity levels.
Staffing consists of RNs only, with no unit secretaries or patient care technicians.
The unit is equipped with ventilators, telemetry, Baxter IV pumps, intra-aortic balloon pumps, continuous renal replacement therapy, and Impella devices.
The documentation system used is Cerner.
The schedule requires 36 hours per week with alternating weekends.
Registered nurses may be required to float to different areas as needed.
ICU experience is required for this position.
Desirable skills include familiarity with intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella, and continuous renal replacement therapy procedures.
Procedures performed on the unit include cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertions, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis.
Proper uniform attire is expected, including navy or navy and white scrubs, with strict adherence to guidelines regarding clothing items.
