Job Title: CVICU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiac/Vascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 12 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience (preferably 2) License: State RN License or Compact License required prior to start Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: Cardiac and Neuro experience required Experience in a similar intensive care unit Description: The position requires working in a Cardiac/Vascular Intensive Care Unit. Shifts are 3x12 hours during nighttime. Holiday rotation applies. Patient ratios are 1:2. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Travelers will be expected to float to meet facility needs. Required experience includes managing critically ill patients. First-time travelers are not accepted for this position. Licensure must be in hand or proof that application was submitted is required. The facility allows for one shift off every two weeks. All requests for time off must be submitted prior to the start date and will be subject to approval. Specialized skills in various procedures and monitoring are necessary. Involvement in direct patient care following cardiac surgery is included. Candidates must be adaptable to changing circumstances as needed. Education and experience in advanced cardiac care are beneficial. Knowledge of charting systems, particularly Epic, is preferred. All staff members may be assigned to emergency response teams during specific seasons.
