Description:
The role involves working 3 x 12-hour shifts with a patient ratio of 1:2.
Weekend coverage will be required every other weekend.
An associate degree in nursing is required, with a bachelor's degree preferred.
This position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in the CVICU setting.
Qualified candidates must possess certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
Key skills needed include arterial line management, chest tube insertion, and management of ventilated patients.
Experience with blood product administration, care of patients on ECMO, and interpretation of arterial blood gases is necessary.
Familiarity with charting systems is preferred.
The role includes management of patients post-cardiac surgery and those with multisystem organ dysfunction.
Additional skills in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and management of central lines are also required.
Candidates should be proficient in using monitoring equipment and have experience with a variety of special devices used in this specialty.
The patient population mainly consists of adults with complex cardiovascular issues requiring specialized care.
Interdisciplinary support will be available from various healthcare teams.
