Schedule: 3x12 night shifts (weekdays and weekends); Patient ratio 1:2 based on acuity

Highlights:

• 10-bed Cardiovascular ICU specializing in cardiothoracic surgery patients including CABG, open valve replacements, thoracotomies, and carotid endarterectomies
• Direct admission of fresh open-heart patients from OR with comprehensive post-operative cardiac surgery care
• Advanced cardiac technologies including Impella monitoring, Swan-Ganz management, IABP, and CRRT
• 13-week contract with possible extension; blocked schedules considered
• Cerner EMR system with 24 hours of orientation provided
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more

Requirements:

• Active RN License (West Virginia or Compact state license accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications (AHA certification required)
• Must have ACT (Activated Clotting Time) experience
• Essential skills: Direct open-heart admissions from OR, cardiac surgery skills, pressure monitoring, Swan-Ganz management, Impella monitoring, and CRRT
• Experience with arterial line management, continuous IV sedation, ventilator management, and cardiac/vasoactive drip titration required
• Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years
• Permanent address must be at least 75 miles from facility location
