Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of CVICU or equivalent experience License: Active RN License Certifications: None required; CCRN recommended Must-Have: - Titration of vesicant medications - Familiarity with pressors, sedation, and paralytics - Experience with ventilators, tracheostomies, and telemetry interpretation - Understanding of hemodynamics and PA catheter setup and interpretation Description: The ideal candidate is required to respond rapidly to critical situations in a cardiovascular intensive care unit. Experience with ECMO, LVAD, and cath lab recoveries is essential. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in patient care for complex cardiac conditions. Experience is required in titration of vesicant medications, with familiarity in pressors, sedation, and paralytics. Candidates should have advanced skills in managing ventilators, tracheostomies, and interpreting telemetry readings. A solid understanding of hemodynamics and PA catheter setups is necessary. Additional desirable skills include IABP, Impella, and CRRT. Procedures performed on the unit include cardioversion, central line insertion, and various thoracic interventions. Candidates will be expected to maintain the high standards of patient care within a 2:1 or 1:1 patient ratio, which may occasionally extend to a 3:1 ratio depending on acuity. The unit is staffed with registered nurses only, and additional support such as unit secretaries or PCTs is not available. Patients in this unit may require complex interventions and monitoring due to their critical condition. Adherence to professional dress and uniform standards is required. The use of tobacco products is prohibited on campus. This position does not require specific certifications; however, having a CCRN is appreciated.
