General Comments:
Unit Specifics: Scrub colors are navy or navy and white.
Number of Beds: 16
Patient Ratios: 2/1 or 1/1 (occasionally 3/1 depending on acuity).
Unit staffing description: RNs only, no HUC or PCT.
Type of equipment includes Vent, Telemetry, Baxter IV Pump, IABP, CRRT, Impella, and Hypothermia.
Documentation system is Cerner.
Scheduling requirements: 36 hours per week, alternating weekends, 12-hour shifts.
Floating policy: Travelers float to all areas.
Patient Experience requirements: ICU experience required.
Hiring profile requested skill set includes Titration of Vesicant Medications, familiarity with Pressors, Sedation, Paralytics, experience with Vents, Trachs, telemetry interpretation, understanding of Hemodynamics, and PA Catheter setup and interpretation.
Advanced skills needed: Desirable skills include IABP, Impella, and CRRT.
Procedures performed on unit include Cardioversion, Central line insertion, EGD, Bronchoscopy, Chest Tube insertions, Pericardiocentesis, and Thoracentesis.
Dress Code requires no pullovers or hoodies, no green scrubs except when uniform is soiled at work.
Uniform colors must be adhered to as specified.
