Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Pending License Accepted Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: COVID vaccination required. COVID exemption form signed by a provider for medical exemptions accepted. Preferred experience in CVICU. No locals within a 100-mile radius. Description: CVICU experience is preferred. The patient ratios are 1:2. First-timers are accepted. Weekend requirements are as needed. The clinician may float to other ICUs, PCU floors, ED, and PACU to care for admitted patients. Post-operative open heart experience is necessary. Skills required include bedside management of various devices and procedures such as CRRT, ECMO, IABP, and Impella. Common patient diagnoses include CABG, aortic aneurysm repair, and cardiac arrest. The facility is a Level I trauma and teaching hospital. The total number of staffed beds is 554. Charting is done using Cerner. The facility has an interdisciplinary support team, including respiratory services and rapid response teams. Additional skills include arterial line management and ventilator management. Modules and compliance training are required during the assignment.
