Job Title: Critical Care Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Weekend Only (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) Hours per Shift: 36-48 Hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in critical care nursing License: RN License Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification - National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification - Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test Must-Have: - Experience in high acuity critical care environments - Ability to provide care for critically ill patients, including those recovering from cardiac surgery and neuro/neurosurgery Description: This position is for a critical care nurse who is highly motivated and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The nurse will provide care to some of the most critically ill patients. The unit frequently receives patients who require specialized care from various regions. Patients served have a variety of diagnoses, primarily focusing on cardiothoracic surgery and neuro conditions. During the pandemic, the team has been involved in providing ICU-level care, including for patients needing ECMO. The unit capacity is 15 beds, with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2. The population served includes adolescents through late adults. Direct patient care staff consists of registered nurses and patient care technicians.
