- Post Cardiac Surgery experience
Description:
Responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients.
Average daily census in the unit is 16 patients.
The unit consists of 21 rooms/beds.
Weekend shifts include a requirement of 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period.
Skills required include Epicardial Pacing Wire Care, central line management, and post cardiac catheterization care.
Experience with pulmonary artery line monitoring and sheath removal is essential.
The role involves managing patients with acute and chronic renal failure and intensive monitoring post-surgeries.
You will work closely with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
You may float to various departments and units within the facility.
The candidate must demonstrate effective infection prevention strategies and recognition of infections in immunosuppressed patients.
Expectations include managing ventilated patients and administering emergency medications as needed.
Familiarity with ECMO support is a plus.
Candidates must be prepared to undergo required compliance training and pre-start modules.
