Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 06:45 - 19:15 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Current RN License required Certifications: None required, CCRN recommended Must-Have: Titration of Vesicant Medications Familiarity with Pressors Sedation and Paralytics experience Experience with Vents and Trachs Telemetry interpretation skills Understanding of Hemodynamics and PA Catheter setup and interpretation Transvenous pacing Cardioversion experience TEE familiarity Chest tube insertions and maintenance Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Critical Care Unit specializing in Cardiology. The unit has 16 beds with patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1, occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity. The unit supports RNs only, with no Unit Secretaries or Patient Care Technicians available. The types of equipment used include Ventilators, Telemetry monitors, Baxter IV Pumps, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy devices, Impella, and Hypothermia equipment. Documentation is done using a Cerner system. Scheduling requires 36 hours per week, with alternating weekends and 12-hour shifts. Travelers may float to all patient care areas as needed. ICU experience is required for this role. Advanced skills including IABP, Impella, and CRRT are desirable. Procedures performed in the unit include Cardioversion, Central line insertion, EGD, Bronchoscopy, Chest Tube insertions, Pericardiocentesis, and Thoracentesis. The dress code includes navy or navy and white scrubs, with no pullovers or hoodies allowed. Practitioners are expected to adhere to the specified uniform colors at all times.
