Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of PCU/Progressive Care experience License: RN License Certifications: ACLS, NIH Must-Have: - Cardiac rhythm knowledge (must pass facility test with 90%) - Previous critical care experience preferred Description: The purpose of this unit profile is to provide an understanding of the unit. This profile includes important information regarding the location, patient ratios, and other unique details to assist in identifying highly qualified staff. The unit operates with an acuity adaptable model, allowing for patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:4 depending on acuity. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend. Call requirements are based on low census, with no extra call required. Equipment used in the unit includes Ekos, balloon pumps, OH, Impella, IV pumps, transvenous pacers, cardiac monitors, CRRT, and ventilators. The electronic medical record system utilized is Epic. The unit typically handles cardiac and post-operative cardiac patients, along with overflow from the medical ICU. Candidates must demonstrate a strong work ethic, punctuality, reliability, and an outgoing personality. The dress code requires navy blue scrubs for RNs and royal blue for patient care technicians. Unacceptable attire includes sweatshirts or T-shirts, and facial piercings must be removed or flesh-colored. Previous critical care experience is preferred. Candidates must possess at least 2 years of PCU/Progressive Care experience.
